On The Road To Find Out by Scavgraphics
On The Road To Find Out
Done for the Daz3d.com New User Contest for Feb. 2015. The theme was "lights"..using it in different ways, etc.
I didn't win. Oh well.

Just a night time on the highway scene...If I could have reskinned the grass, I would have gone for "On a Dark Desert Highway" for the title, but instead I went to Cat Stevens for the title...I think I like it better.

I was pleased with how the UFO and cows turned out, and the reflection in the mirror.

The armadillo is there in tribute to my dad, who likes armadillos :)

For the record, the hitchhiker is not an alien or related to the UFO (she's unaware of it, otherwise, she'd be staring at it).
She's actually the Mage role player from Spirits of the Warrior 4 or 5 years later. Just because :D

Can't Hold Back by Scavgraphics
Can't Hold Back
I did this for a new user contest at the Daz 3d forums about composition, focusing on things like golden rules, rule of thirds..that kind of stuff.

I went for simple, recreating an image from Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight" music video which has stuck with me for many many years.

I never got 100% satisfied with this (and it didn't win) but there's some stuff I do like in it.  This was my first experiment with the depth of field settings.

Used: Daz Studio (Photoshop for framing)

Spirits of the Warrior by Scavgraphics
Spirits of the Warrior
This was done for the "Way of the Warrior" contest for DS Creative Magazine #9.
I'm very pleased to say I came in first place!

I wanted to go in a different direction than I assumed others would go, creating an exciting warrior (which they did..check out the other entries), but focus on people expressing their inner warriors through gaming.
I was debating using someone playing an arcade game, with the real person's face reflected in the screen over the on screen warrior, or two people playing a video game, looking over their shoulders to the tv.  I settled on the RPG, as I liked the idea of presenting the viewer as the game master.

I worked backwards, making the fantasy characters first, then de-aging the figures to make the real world girls. I decided to have some sort of "expressing their fantasies/hopes/dreams in their characters", which to some extent is more "they wear the same colors".

Mage (in the center): Shy goth girl, envisions herself as a glamorous sorceress.
Warrior (Right): No real issues, likes who she is and shows off (bold make up) but is a bit repressed due to the religious school she goes to (hides her bracelets under her sleeves), so her fantasy version is just her going wild and over the top.
Rogue (left) : She has some body image issues, so she's wearing an oversized sweater...and she likes green. (I kind of ran out of ideas here.) so she's the athletic thief.

I also REALLY need to start naming my characters.

Done with Daz Studio 4.7/3Delight and Photoshop for compositing.
